Mark your calendars for December 15, 2009 at the Belcourt Theatre..
The annual State of the Industry event – Speakers from Nashville organizations related to film and television — including the Tennessee Film, Entertainment & Music Commission, Nashville Composers Association, Tennessee Screenwriting Association, AFFT, Nashville Film Festival, International Black Film Festival of Nashville, Women in Film & Television, Nashville 48 Hour Film Project, Watkins, AI-TN & Vanderbilt film programs, Film-Com, FilmNashville and others TBA will provide updates, answer questions and encourage discussion of our local filmmaking community and business.
The Town Meeting will be followed by the annual presentation of the Nashy Award, presented for Outstanding Contributions to the Growth of the Nashville Filmmaking Community. Past recipients have included Armanda Costanza, founder of AC Inc; John Cherry, creator of the Ernest movie franchise; Jim Ridley, managing editor of the Nashville Scene; and Coke Sams, director, producer, writer of numerous works. This year’s Nashy Award recipient will be announced in NEXT WEEK’s FilmNashville Bulletin.
