Chris St. Croix Secures Distribution For “Shattered”

Local filmmaker signs deal with Gravitas..
Somerville Entertainment and writer/director Chris St.Croix announce delivery of the indie thriller Shattered to PPV, VOD and Internet Download via a new distribution deal with Los Angeles based, Gravitas Ventures.
When Shattered debuts on May 1st, 2009, Gravitas, partnered with TVN Entertainment, will make the film available to over 10 million homes in the U.S.. Also as part of the deal, the film will be available for hotel, in-flight purchase and in third quarter ‘09 for internet download and rental via CinemaNow, EZTakes and Vudu. Deals with iTunes, Xbox and other online providers are also forthcoming.
Filmed in Nashville, TN and co-starring Miss U.S.A 2000 Lynnette Cole, the edge-of-your-seat thriller is affectionately referred to as “an edgy chick-flick” by the film’s writer and director, Chris St.Croix.
The Story: Four girlfriends mortgage their lives to open a bar together, But on the morning of the grand opening, one of them is attacked inside. She manages to escape, locking her assailant in the bar’s storage room. As the clock ticks away they test their friendship trying to decide whether to let justice take it’s course, or take justice into their own hands.
“Having Shattered be available to such a large and varied audience is what every filmmaker hopes for. I wanted to make a film that not only entertained, but created what I like to call new positive stereotypes for women characters in film.”, says director St.Croix. “And with the success of Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City, it’s obvious that there is a large audience, and not just women, wanting to see films with strong female characters. It is clear to me that VOD and Internet distribution is the future and I’m excited about working with Gravitas and having the opportunity to showcase my work there.
