WE ARE DOING THIS EVENT FOR YOU — Please participate and spread the word

  • Nashville Film Festival added as sponsor
  • Kamera Sutra added as partner
  • Price re-structuring for Film-Com..
  • NeoClassics Films added to list of incoming distribution companies..

The film community in Tennessee has for many years been working to establish connections to money people, distributors and major production company partners for feature film and television projects. This does not involve only in-state support, but development of inroads to out-of-state capitalization and distribution mechanisms to get projects to domestic and foreign markets. General efforts have been both about attracting multi-million dollar business to our industry for our local professionals and related infrastructure, and about providing bona fide practical elements to launch locally originated projects. Up until now, local filmmakers have attempted on an individual basis to find anyone who would listen to their concepts, or any entity that might want to buy their finished work. Film-Com is now bringing distribution companies, potential co-production partners and financiers to Nashville from April 13-16, and they are coming to Tennessee specifically to look for new projects and discover new filmmaking talent. This is your individual chance — this is our collective chance as an emerging industry.

If you have a work-in-progress, short film that can serve as a prototype for a feature film, completely shot feature needing post-production, newly produced film, or killer reel and tremendous power-point presentation for a feature-length project, Film-Com has been designed to facilitate the connection to potential distribution companies, financiers and co-production partners. Film-Com will maintain an accumulating database of contacts for the benefit of our community, a database that will not be in jeopardy of starting from scratch due to political election cycles. This is important for the true, ongoing independence of our production community.

Marketability is key to attending industry execs from The Weinstein Co, The Film Department, Nu Image / Millennium, Newmarket Films, William Morris Endeavor Global, Tom Ortenberg [formerly of Lionsgate],  The Panda Fund, Stone Management, Ingram Entertainment, NeoClassics Films, Affirm Films, Sony Picture Entertainment Company, and more..

We have listened: Due to important response to this effort to create an event of benefit to the film community, the original Film-Com pricing which included one fee for submitting an entry, attending the Film-Com Networking Event, and the Financing & Distribution Summit, is now also segmentable into three distinct items & costs. It’s a better deal to get the combo platter, but some folks won’t be able to attend one or two aspects of Film-Com, so we wanted to get things as fair as possible [we've already had inquiries from as far away as Mumbai, India].

By entering a project in the Film-Com process, you are enabled guaranteed exposure to distributors and potential financial partners via the Film-Com Project Registry, opportunity for the most marketable properties to be in the printed catalog given to attending execs, chance for the 20 most  ready-to-market projects to be presented in-person to distributors, and financiers. Your project package can be built and enhanced over time.

Depending upon your preferences, entry to the Film-Com Networking Event and/or entry to the Financing & Distribution Summit is part of one package or a la carte, per your choice. The incoming industry execs will be at both events.

The price restructuring is now in effect until the end of February, with late fee from March 1 to March 15. [Those who have already entered will be able to participate in the re-structuring - we will be in touch.]
