In the Spotlight this week is NATPE’S LATV FEST NextTV COMPETITION in the heart of Los Angeles, California. Through the Competition, NATPE is searching far and wide for the best pilot for a new web series or the best new episode from existing web series.
LATV Fest 2010 is dedicated to bringing together creative TV and digital content producers with development executives, agents, advertising and brand executives, as well as software solutions, technology, and equipment providers. Industry players are offered a series of networking events, panel discussions, technology demonstrations, and news-making keynotes from some of the most creative minds in the business. Confirmed speakers represent such companies and productions as Sony Pictures Television, E! Networks, Atlas Media Corp., “Heroes,” NBC Universal Digital Media, and LMNO Productions, among others.
Winners in NATPE’s NextTV Competition’s seven categories will receive generous prizes, including a development meeting with high-profile sponsors; a Creative Labs Vado Pocket Video Camcorder; a one-year Professional Membership to NATPE; complimentary registration to attend the NATPE 2011 Market & Conference at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach; and inclusion in a press release targeting leaders and decision-makers in the TV industry. Finalist web series will be screened during the LATV Festival, where top players congregate, and the Grand Prize Winner receives a $3,000 USD cash prize.
