You too can fulfill your lifelong dream of being a zombie at the world record zombie day in a film starring “Bernie” Terry Kiser..
This Saturday, August 29, 2009, Nashville based Flickering Candle Productions, LLC is producing their final and biggest scene for Indie feature film, zombie movie, DEAD START Writer/Director, George Demick, has announced an open casting call for zombies His goal? To break the World Record for number of zombies. With little promotion, Demick and his team were able to acquire 550 zombies for a scene filmed in Smyrna, TN, April 26, 2009. George Demick has put out a call for 8,000 zombies to walk, crawl, drive and gather forth Saturday, August 29th. Current World Record was set in July in Seattle – with approximately 4,000 Zombies. Having no doubt his zombies will arrive and surpass the amount needed to break the record, Demick says with a huge smile, “we have confirmed zombies arriving from as far away as Ohio and groups from Nashville, Knoxville and the Southeast !” Tropic Heat Studios and Flickering Candle Productions have non-stop events scheduled this weekend to celebrate all things Dead Start & the community that has made so much possible.
This Saturday’s production will star actor Terry Kiser, who is best known for his role as “Bernie” in “Weekend At Bernie’s”, Mr. Kiser is arriving for a cameo scene in the film and to add his support to the World Record attempt. Zombie Call Time for filming at The Stardust Drive-in, Watertown, TN is
8:00 a .m .(CST) Saturday. Zombies are encouraged to be well behaved and not run a muck so that regulations for qualifying for the World Record are adhered to and respected. Zombies are also encouraged to come in make-up if they can – for those needing make-up, the production’s SPFX make-up team will be applying just the basics, and gallons of blood of course. This will be the last opportunity for people to play a zombie in the upcoming horror film, “Dead Start” , Extras of all ages are encouraged to come out and enjoy contributing to this historic event.
The weekend launch begins Friday night, with a Meet & Greet gathering at DEAD START host hotel, The Days Inn at 211 N. First Street, Nashville, TN. This gathering is free, hosted by Tropic Heat Studios, and open to the public of all ages! The launch party takes place in the hotel bar, lobby and ballroom where people can meet Dead Start Director, George Demick & Executive Producer, Chuck Nicholson, along with the Dead Start cast & crew, zombies, recording artists, producers, directors, Terry Kiser and Tropic Heat Studio’s team.
Enjoy another added treat of the Friday night launch party with the unveiling of the world’s greatest compression & encryption technologies.. This will be the first public demonstration of a Breakthrough in HD video/audio ++ delivery!
